Sharing My Skills

On the 23rd of February I completed the part of my Arts Award that involves sharing my skills.

At my drama group class I led part of the lesson. I had 7 students in my class and I got the group to play 4 different drama games. My class worked well and followed my instructions and everyone participated happily.

I gained some confidence from leading the lesson and I could possibly do it again.

Watching Bugsy Malone with my drama group

On the 9th of February 2016 I went to watch the musical play "Bugsy Malone" with my drama group at Lostock Hall Academy. We went to see this play because a member of our drama group was performing in it.

Through this play I found out that Bugsy was not the main gangster, (which I thought he was) but a boxing promoter who was just sucked into the life of crime.

My favourite actor played the part of Bugsy as he did a very convincing New York accent. The actress from our drama group also did a very good job.

I also enjoyed the live band that accompanied the musical numbers.

I enjoyed the play and spending time with my drama group.

Performing in Aladdin.

In January 2016 I appeared in an adaptation of the famous play Aladdin with the Houghton Players, in Houghton. I performed 8 times over the course of 2 weekends, 4 of which were evening performances, the other 4 were matinees.

The parts which I performed were: 1: Chinese citizen/cleaner.   2: The head of a dragon.
3: A guard. 4: An Egyptian Mummy.

My favourite part was when I acted as the Egyptian Mummy. I found it a lot of fun gradually scaring off the people on stage, then getting scared off myself.

In all I found Aladdin to be a brilliant and fun experience, and would like to do it again, if given the chance.
